NBA Odds: Warriors Open as Big Chalk vs. Pelicans, 76ers Now Eastern Conference Favorites

The first round of the NBA Playoffs is winding down and a lot has changed since it began. For instance, the Pelicans and 76ers have both made huge leaps in the public’s eye, and also with the odds makers.

Philly, who opened at +1500 to win the NBA Finals, has now cut that number (almost) in half at +800 and have the best odds of all Eastern Conference teams. To win the East, they’re now a surprising +165.

New Orleans, who opened at +10000 to win it all, cut their number exactly in half and now sits at +5000. They are +2000 to win the Western Conference.

The Utah Jazz have also improved their odds from +4000 down to +2800. They are +1500 to win the West.

And then there’s the teams that fell.

Cleveland: +650 (opening); +1800 (current)

Toronto: +850 (opening); +1500 (current)

Boston: +7000 (opening); +10000 (current)

The Thunder also fell drastically but they appear to be cooked; they trail 3-1 and play Game 5 tonight against Utah.

Houston (+200) and Golden State (-110) are the favorites to win it all.

As for the second round, there is only one series set in stone: New Orleans vs. Golden State. For Game 1, which will take place this Saturday, the Warriors opened as 7.5-point favorites at home.
