Rivers-Curry Marriage Unites Legendary NBA Families

Two families with deep NBA ties (Rivers & Curry) are now united by marriage.

According to TMZ, Portland Trail Blazers guard Seth Curry and Callie Rivers are engaged, uniting two legendary basketball families. Curry, of course, is the son of former NBA star Dell Curry and brother to two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry. Callie, on the other hand, is the daughter of former NBA player and current Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, and the sister of former Washington Wizards guard Austin Rivers.

Per the report, the two became engaged on Valentine’s Day after dating since sometime in 2017. They already have a child together, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Rivers is a stellar athlete herself, having played volleyball at the University of Florida where she was an All-American. After college, she played professionally overseas.

The report comes at an exciting time for the pair; Curry participated in his first NBA Three-Point Competition on Saturday, though he didn’t advance to the final round, and his team, Portland, is on track to make the Western Conference Playoffs — it would be Seth’s first time playing in the postseason. On top of that, the former Duke star is having one of his best years from beyond the arc — something his family is known for — with a 46.5-percent three-point percentage.

Portland is Seth’s sixth NBA team, having previously played with Cleveland (1 GP), Memphis (1 GP), Phoenix (2 GP), Sacramento (44 GP), and Dallas (70 GP).

Last year, Curry missed the entire season with an injury.
