Since ’68: The Phoenix Suns Produced An Awesome Documentary Series

If you love 30 for 30 on ESPN or their bite-sized versions, 30 for 30: Shorts, you’ll love the mini-documentary series produced by the Phoenix Suns: Since 68.

The series follows all the hallmark events in the team’s history in honor of their 50th anniversary. Whether it be their legendary 1992–93 team, Steve Nash, or their Gorilla mascot, the films are entertaining and unique. After all, the Suns are one of those franchises who fly under the radar, even though they have interesting tales to tell.

As of now, there are over 30 videos to choose from. Some are just a few minutes long, while others, like “The Parade” or “1988–89 Turnaround”, run longer than five minutes and feel more like documentaries.

All in all, these are a solid way to pass the time for fans of the NBA, and unlike a lot of other stuff out these days, they’re stories you haven’t necessarily heard before.

Here is the most recent episode, the one that initially caught my eye. It logs the story of the 1993 Western Conference Finals between Phoenix and Seattle, or more importantly Shawn Kemp versus Charles Barkley. For kids of the 1990’s, this is a legit throwback that’ll bring way back in the day.

Enjoy. RIP Sonics.
