3 Mid-Atlantic NFL Storylines To Watch in Preseason Week 1
Welp, it looks like the NFL is officially here — sort of. It’s the preseason, which means several things, but the main reason to actually watch is the 2018 rookies and the position battles that aren’t sorted out yet. For the area we cover, there are several battles still up in the air, as well as rookies to watch. Here are the three that we’re most looking forward to.
D.J Moore in Carolina
No, we don’t really care about the Panthers but former Maryland receiver D.J. Moore could be a legit star down in Charlotte. He was the team’s first-round pick in 2018 (No.24) and should be Cam Newton‘s No.1 target. However, with the recent comments by Newton’s most recent No.1 guy, Kelvin Benjamin, Moore could be in for a doozy.
On the bright side, Moore can fly and has a shot to be the NFL’s best rookie receiver…just as long as Newton can hit him.
QB Battle in Buffalo
Although the Bills drafted Josh Allen with the No.7 pick, he’s not likely to start when Week 1 rolls around. Instead, my money is former Alabama legend AJ McCarron. Right now, he’s competing with Nathan Peterman. As we all know, though, Peterman was a joke last year when given his chance.
Saquon’s First Action
The hype machine for Saquon Barkley has been CRAZY. So much, in fact, that I’m even excited to watch the New York Giants this season. That, my friends, is not an easy thing to do. Combined with Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr., the G-Men have their own group of triplets. Tonight, when they face another intriguing team, the Browns, Saquon will need to do something or else the bloodsuckers will be out in full force tomorrow morning. It won’t be pretty if he gets stuffed up, but then again, if he tears the Browns to pieces, he’ll be the next coming of Barry Sanders. They play at 7:00 P.M ET on NFL Network.
