“A Lot of Demons”: ESPN Will Tell the Untold Roy Halladay Story
It’s hard to think of a more impressive year for a pitcher than Roy Halladay’s 2010 season. Yeah, he won the Cy Young and led the league in wins, but what really sticks out is his no-hitter in the playoffs and perfect game during the regular season. As a complete body of work, it’s hard to match.
Halladay tragically passed away in 2017 when the plane he was piloting crashed into the Gulf of Mexico. The autopsy revealed alcohol in his system, as well as morphine and amphetamines. It had been almost four years since his last MLB appearance.

Earlier this year, the Phillies retired his No. 34 jersey, and now ESPN will tell the story of Roy Halladay in detail. “Imperfect: The Roy Halladay Story” will air under ESPN’s E:60 brand on May 29th.
“His body was dependent on these medications,” Halladay’s wife Brandy says in the trailer. “Roy had a lot of demons he was trying to work on at the same time.”
The documentary is set to start at 7:00 P.M. ET.
