AAF Playing Championship Game at The Star in Frisco
The AAF has been a moderate success in its first year, complete with tons of headlines, a resurrection of some former NFL busts and broadcasts by CBS, TNT, and the NFL Network. Now, the train is continuing down the tracks with some more good news; rather than play their title game in Las Vegas, the game will take place at The Ford Center in Frisco, TX.
The Ford Center is at The Star in Frisco, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. There are three fields at The Star that the Cowboys use to practice but The Ford Center is indoors and used for a multitude of events. It holds 12,000 people and can be converted for different sports. Just recently, the Conference USA Basketball Tournament was held there.
Frisco, itself, is like football heaven; the entire town is based around The Star and the Dallas Cowboys. Having the AAF title game there is huge for the brand and it says a lot that Jerry Jones would sign off on it.
Jones recently spoke to the Associated Press about the AAF and the move to bring their title game to The Star.
“I am a big fan of the Alliance,” Jones said. “They are the first high-quality alternative football league to come along in a long time. The championship being live in prime time on CBS and the league’s success in drawing good crowds in Texas means this will be a great event for the fans of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.”

The AAF title game, which was originally supposed to be at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, will be held on April 27th.
