Adam Sandler SNL Return Brings All the Feels
In the early 90s, Adam Sandler was part of our generation’s best SNL cast. It was a Murderer’s Row of comedians, led by Sandler, Chris Farley, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Norm Macdonald, Phil Hartman, and Chris Rock.
Sandler was eventually fired, and by the turn of the century, they were all gone from the show.
Since then, he’s been ghost from SNL, save for a brief appearance in 2015 for the show’s 40th anniversary. Until last night, when he hosted the show.
It was epic and included some surprise heavy-hitters. He opened with a killer monologue (feat. Chris Rock), had some solid sketches in the middle (feat. Jimmy Fallon), then ended the show with a touching tribute to Farley (that was also featured on his Netflix special).
Watch below:
Farley passed away in 1997, over 20 years ago. For Sandler, who was obviously close with Farley, to keep his memory alive is awesome, and something I hope friends do for Mac Miller and other gone-too-soon legends 20 years from now.
