An Engaged Derrick Rose Had His Best Game Yet With Minnesota (Video)

Although the Minnesota Timberwolves lost 129-120 to the Houston Rockets, the playoff-bound franchise got a boost from an unlikely source in the second-half — Derrick Rose.

Rose, now with his fourth team since leaving the Bulls after the 2015-16 season, scored eight consecutive points for the Timberwolves in the fourth quarter, finishing with 14 overall. Minnesota was down big in the first half but came back in the second half to make it a game.

All six of Rose’s buckets came inside six-feet but he was engaged and actually crashed the boards. It wasn’t an MVP-type performance or anything, yet to have Rose actually caring again is something to celebrate.

Rose’s 14 points here was more than he scored in his first three games combined (10). Plus, he shot 6 for 11, much better than the 5 for 16 clip he delivered in the rest of his T’Wolves’ stint.

Minnesota currently holds the eighth-seed in the Western Conference Playoff race with 11 games to play. With that said, the Jazz, Pelicans, Spurs, and T’Wolves are all within a half-game of one another.
