Diamondbacks Announce All-Time Team to Honor 20th Anniversary
From 1998 until now, the fans of the Arizona Diamondbacks have been loyal to their team. Now, after 20 years of watching them play, they’ve officially spoken as to who the best Arizona Diamondbacks are.
The All-Time Team, chosen by fans to honor the team’s 20th anniversary, was announced this week on their website and features four current players. Bob Brenly, famous for one of baseball’s best mustaches, was chosen as the manager of the All-Time Team. In his first year as skipper, he led his squad to the 2001 World Series which saw them beat the powerhouse Yankees in a legendary seven-game series. Webb is the one guy who sticks out to me, mostly because of how sad his career ended. From 2006 to 2008, Webb made three All-Star appearances, averaged 19 wins per season, and took home the NL Cy Young in 2006. However, after the 2008 season, he started Opening Day of the 2009 season, got hurt, and never pitched again in the MLB.
