‘Atlanta’ Director Hiro Murai Releases TLC-Inspired Deleted Scene From “North of the Border”

First of all, if you’re not watching Atlanta, you need to flip on FXNOW and catch up.

The show, now in its second season, recently aired the ninth episode of Season 2, titled “North of the Border”. In the episode, the four friends — Earn, Alfred, Darius, and Tracy — take a trip to Statesboro, GA so Paper Boi can perform at a concert. Earn, however, repeats his pattern of managerial shortcomings by foregoing a traditional hotel to stay with groupies. Because Atlanta is Atlanta, things obviously don’t go as Earn had initially planned. I don’t want to go all spoiler-crazy, but by the ending, fans witness an event they knew was coming.

One scene that didn’t make the cut was the TLC-inspired dance session outside the groupies’ apartment. It would have been one of the lighter moments from “North of the Border” and wouldn’t have seen the light of day if not for director Hiro Murai. Earlier today, Murai shared the scene on Instagram. (I dare you to try sit still when “Creep” comes on!)

couldn’t leave this on the edit room floor #atlantafx
