Big Ten Tournament: BTN Will Broadcast in 4K For The First Time

The Big Ten Tournament will head to Madison Square Garden for the first time ever this coming week, with the first two games coming on Wednesday night — Minnesota (#11) vs. Rutgers (#14) and Iowa (#12) vs. Illinois (#13). Following those, there will be games each day from Thursday until Sunday.

Another first for the Big Ten will come from their network, BTN, which will broadcast all 10 of their tournament games in 4K for Dish, DirecTV, and Layer3 TV subscribers. Per the official release from BTN, the production will be done by Game Creek Video — the same company that broadcast the World Series in 4K for Fox Sports.

BTN will also use Railcam, a technology that runs baseline-to-baseline and provides viewers with unique angles, for the first time ever. It has only been used one other time at MSG.

BTN will broadcast the first 10 games of the tournament (Wed-Fri), while CBS will handle the semi-finals and championship game.
