Bradley Beal Scores Season-High 46 in Loss to Hornets
Bradley Beal had a season-high 46 points in the Washington Wizards 123-110 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.
Maybe it’s because he was playing at the same arena he just played an All-Star game in or maybe he’s just ready to make a playoff push, but whatever the reason is, Bradley Beal turned in his best performance of the season on Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets. Beal scored a season-high 46 points, shooting 16-for-25 from the field with four made three-pointers (4-for-10) and 10 made free throws (10-for-10).
Now, the Wizards did lose 123-110 but you’ve gotta be encouraged going forward. Maybe, just maybe, Bradley Beal and the new-look Wizards can snag the No. 8 seed in the East. It won’t be easy, that’s for sure, but if he’s dead-set on getting buckets like he showed against Charlotte, it’s not out of the question.
A few other players scored in double-figures for Washington on Friday, though their bench, and specifically their new acquisitions, really let them down. Combined, the three guys they got before the trade deadline — Jabari Parker, Bobby Portis, and Wesley Johnson — posted a negative-38 plus/minus and the bench as a whole shot just 10 percent from three-point land (1-for-10).
With the loss, Washington is now four games back for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
