Russell Westbrook, Paul George Comments Look Good For OKC Thunder
While most NBA folks, media members, and basically anyone from Los Angeles believe Paul George is on his way out of Oklahoma City at the end of the season, Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook thinks otherwise. In fact, Paul George even made some comments that look to be pro-OKC instead of pro-LA.
Setting up shop at NBA All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, Westbrook, and George answered questions from the media about a wide range of topics. Upon arrival, though, Lakers’ fans who were attending let out a loud “We Want Paul” chant, prompting Westbrook to crush their dreams while lifting OKC’s in the process.
“Paul ain’t going nowhere. It’s over for that,” Westbrook said into the microphone.

Per NBC Sports, George followed by saying, “I’m a Thunder, and that’s all there is to it.” Adding that he wasn’t “one foot in, one foot out”.
This isn’t the first time Paul George has implied he likes the way things are going in Oklahoma City. Earlier this month in an interview with ESPN, he went into more detail.
“I obviously would have loved to go home. That was ideal when it was that time. But now, being here and playing alongside Russ, playing alongside Melo, I’ve built a real brotherhood with those guys. If we’re here right now [holds hand at chest level], then where can we be next year [hold hand at eye level]? Where can we be the year after that [holds hand above head]?
Of course, L.A. is home. So, that’s always going to draw the attention. But we’ll see. I won’t rule anything out. But I’m definitely happy where I’m at. I like where we’re going, and I want to see how this unfolds”
All in all, it’s been great to see what the Thunder are doing this year. Those three guys (Westbrook, Carmelo, and George) are super fun to watch and it’d be nice if they stuck together for a little while. The league is a better place when OKC is relevant, and while the same can be said for LA, it’s better for everyone if they could get there without George.
