Chip Tha Ripper is Having a Moment With ‘Interior Crocodile Alligator’
Over a decade ago in 2007, Cleveland legend Chip Tha Ripper dropped a radio freestyle on Street Starz TV Radio over the “Go Head” beat. He let loose the same-type bars that made him stand out in the first place, mixing his unique voice with pop culture and sports references. It was fantastic. Back then, it had made some waves, particularly the send-off bar — “Interior crocodile alligator, I drive a Chevrolet movie theater.”
Fast-forward to present day: that same nine-word grouping is going super-duper viral on TikTok, registering over 70 million views (per Genius) to people who probably have no idea who Chip Tha Ripper (or King Chip) actually is.

Chip, who’s back to Chip Tha Ripper now I believe, got in on the action, too, acknowledging the phenomenon on his IG (his other posts are on some other, other shit — be prepared) and posting an upgraded version of the song on his Spotify account (the bar is the hook — it’s dope).
“It’s like me from 12 years ago has come to pick me up in a yacht,” Chip told Genius. On his Genius page, the verse is the second-most viewed song he has, trailing only “Just What I Am” with longtime collaborator Kid Cudi. You’ve gotta be happy to see Chip getting some renewed shine. The Cleveland Show was legendary to the fullest. SLAB Ent, boy!
