Reports: Cowherd Re-Signing With Fox But Will Leave Newly Extended ‘Speak For Yourself’
Fox Sports 1 is making some mega changes to their TV lineup with an additional hour of Speak For Yourself and a shake-up in hosting duties.
According to Michael McCarthey of the Sporting News, the show is expected to expand from one hour to two hours in the near future with ESPN’s Marcellus Wiley taking over Colin Cowherd’s co-hosting job.
Cowherd, who already hosts a popular show from 12-3 P.M ET on FS1, is reportedly re-signing with Fox, per Andrew Marchand of the New York Post. While his contract isn’t up yet, Marchand reported that “his new deal is likely more” than the $6 million he had initially signed for. On Wednesday, all the folks on First Things First gave Colin credit for starting the shift of talent to FS1 so it’s nice that he’ll be around for awhile.
As for Speak For Yourself, Wiley will join current co-host Jason Whitlock. Per McCarthey, the new time-slot is expected to be from 3-5 P.M ET.
Colin Cowherd is going to stick with Fox (and iHeartRadio) for at least four more years, with a raise from the $6 million annually he was making. But he's leaving Speak For Yourself, and ESPN's Marcellus Wiley has been reported as his likely SFY successor. https://t.co/lQzWVWHWrJ

Ironically, this Cowherd-Wiley flip-flop has sort of happened once already. Colin Cowherd originally co-hosted SportsNation on ESPN in 2009 until he left in 2012. Wiley started hosting the show in 2013 and still is (until he goes to Fox, I’d imagine).
Cowherd will continue to host Fox NFL Kickoff, as well.
