Dallas Cowboys: Allen Hurns Injury Update; Bettors Take Bad Beat
The Dallas Cowboys won their first playoff game in what feels like forever on Saturday, beating the Seattle Seahawks 24-22 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. While fans of the team are ecstatic about the W, a lot of folks who bet on them are feeling the opposite way.
Going into the game, most bettors had the Cowboys with a 2.5-point spread. For much of the fourth quarter, it seemed like it was golden; Dallas led by three for 10 minutes in the final period, then went up 10 right around the final two-minute warning. A touchdown, at that point, was unlikely but even so, the bet would be safe. Unfortunately, things played out in the worst way for Dallas bettors: Seattle scored a touchdown 50 seconds later and due to a non-contact injury to Seattle’s kicker Sebastian Janikowski at the end of the first half, they had to go for two — which they converted. In one unlikely sequence that lasted less than a minute, the winning tickets were shredded, though the Cowboys would recover the Seahawks awful onside kick attempt and secure the 24-22 victory.
Another injury that was also a major storyline happened early in the first quarter to Allen Hurns. This one, unlike Janikowski’s hamstring, involved a lot of contact and a gruesome scene. Hurns was carted off with members of both teams offering support to the fallen receiver.

After the win, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones gave an update on Hurns’ injury to veteran NFL reporter Charean Williams, saying Hurns “has a dislocated ankle as well as fractures.” He added that the first-year Cowboy was “probably in surgery” at the time of his comments.
Jerry Jones on Allen Hurns: He of course has a dislocated ankle as well as fractures. At this time, he's probably in surgery. My understanding is he would be in surgery at this time.

Dallas will now play the Los Angeles Rams if the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Chicago Bears or the New Orleans Saints if the Bears prevail.
