Damian Lillard: Hoyas James Akinjo “the Toughest Point Guard in the Country”
On the heels of Georgetown’s huge 86-84 upset at No. 16 Marquette, NBA All-Star Damian Lillard checked in on Twitter to talk up one of the Hoyas’ best players, freshman James Akinjo. Lillard told his 1.59 million Twitter followers that Akinjo is “the toughest point guard in the country.”

The tweet from Lillard came after Akinjo dropped 25 points on Marquette, complete with five made three-pointers, five rebounds, and five assists. He also hit two key free throws with less than 10 seconds remaining to put Georgetown up by two possessions (85-81), essentially icing the game for the Hoyas. Georgetown would go on to win 86-84.
