Despite Hunter Injury, Virginia Still Favorite to Win NCAA Tournament

Yesterday, the Virginia Cavaliers’ NCAA Tournament hopes took a hit with the loss of De’Andre Hunter — a freshman who is probably their best pro prospect. He’ll miss the entire tournament with a broken wrist suffered in the ACC Tournament.

With that said, Bovada still has the Cavaliers as the favorite to take home the trophy.

Here are the Top 15, per Bovada.

  • Virginia (+550)
  • Villanova (+600)
  • Duke (+750)
  • Michigan State (+750)
  • Arizona (+1200)
  • Purdue (+1200)
  • Kansas (+1400)
  • Cincinnati (+1500)
  • Michigan (+1600)
  • Xavier (+1600)
  • North Carolina (+1800)
  • Gonzaga (+2000)
  • West Virginia (+2200)
  • Kentucky (+2500)
  • Wichita State (+3300)

Ironically, Xavier is the tenth most-likely to win despite being one of the four No. 1 seeds.

Virginia plays No. 16 UMBC on Friday night at 9:57 P.M ET on TruTV.
