At the 13:26 mark in the third quarter, the Baltimore Ravens dialed up a wide receiver screen for the newest addition to their offense, former all-pro Dez Bryant. The play went for four yards, yet it was so much bigger than that. Bryant, of course, was out of the league for the entire 2018 and 2019 seasons, save for one practice with the New Orleans Saints which resulted in a torn achilles.

While the Ravens eventually lost 30-24 to Tennessee, Bryant finished the game with four catches for 28 yards, the only four catches on his resume now not in a Dallas Cowboys uniform. Bryant, a 2010 first-round pick, was with Big D from ’10-17, ending his tenure as the franchise’s all-time leader in receiving touchdowns.

“Being on the field is exciting, but I’m a natural competitor. To me, wins and losses are the only thing that matters. I’m extremely happy to be a part of the Baltimore Ravens, and that’s the only thing that matters, is wins and losses. I don’t really care about anything else – I just want to win.” -Dez Bryant after the Ravens 30-24 loss to Tennessee

All four catches were short throws behind the line of scrimmage, though his last catch was the most impressive of the bunch. Lamar Jackson was under heavy pressure so Dez moved into his sightline and took the short throw for 16 yards and a first down.

“He did pretty good,” head coach John Harbaugh said after the game. “We just have to keep putting him in.”

This was the second game Dez has been active for. Last week he was inactive but against Indianapolis two weeks ago he was on the field for two snaps.

Baltimore fell to 6-4 with the loss on Sunday. They have a short week because they’ll be playing the late game on Thanksgiving against rival (and undefeated) Pittsburgh.
