Michael Beasley Heading Back to China

DMV hoops legend Michael Beasley is heading back to China after a rough stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. According to Woj, the Prince George’s County native is signing a two-month deal for “significant cash” with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Beasley was familiar with LeBron James from their time in Miami so he came to join the King in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, Beasley clashed with Lakers head coach Luke Walton and was eventually shipped him out of town before the NBA trade deadline.

This won’t be Beasley’s first time in China; he’s had stints with the Shanghai Sharks (’14-’15) and the Shandong Golden Stars (’15-’16), lighting up the league each time he’s competed. Prior to his third trip, his CBA resume includes two CBA All-Star appearances, two CBA All-Star Game MVP awards, and a CBA MVP award.

In 77 CBA games, Beasley has averaged 30.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.

It should also be noted that each of his first two trips to China led to NBA contracts. Hopefully, we see Beas back in the league soon because, as we all know, the dude can score.
