ESPN College Gameday History For AAC Football

It looks like there’s a real possibility that the SMU-Memphis showdown in Week 10 could be the site of ESPN College Gameday. Host Chris Fowler hinted at it after SMU improved to 8-0 with their win over Houston and if Memphis beats Tulsa on Saturday evening, Grind City has to be the odds-on-favorite to play host to the crew. Tulsa isn’t a pushover at home, but if they fall, the Tigers and Mustangs will have a combined 15-1 record this year.

Having Gameday at an AAC football game is a big deal and something that doesn’t happen often. The conference has ties to the show because of the Army-Navy game — which they host annually at a neutral site — but AAC schools outside of Navy rarely experience the early-morning hoopla.
