ESPN “Hoop Streams”: Ryen Russillo, David Jacoby Teaming Up For NBA Twitter Show
Although Ryen Russillo is on his way out at ESPN, the Walt Disney-owned company is getting every last bit of talent out of him before he goes. Russillo, along with David Jacoby of the famed Jalen & Jacoby podcast, will host a new NBA show on Twitter, titled Hoop Streams. Along with Hoop Streams, several other shows were announced in a new Twitter-ESPN agreement.
Just announced at #ESPNF1RST in NYC: @ryenarussillo and @djacoby are launching Hoop Streams, a new #NBA show for Twitter that will preview nightly games and incorporate real-time conversation w/ fans. Starts Saturday. https://t.co/qIPAzW4qyh #NewFronts pic.twitter.com/gHCOtU8A3v

The new series will kick off on Saturday and run throughout the rest of the NBA Playoffs. However, with Russillo’s contract ending at the end of 2018, this seems like a one-time deal. Or, depending on how the show performs, they’ll plug in someone else next to Jacoby for next season’s playoff run.
Either way, these are two of the better guys currently at ESPN — guys who can actually connect with the target demographic. It’ll be dope to see them together, and since Russillo is in DGAF-mode, I’d imagine anything goes.
In response to the new program, Russillo tweeted: “Really excited to get this going.”
Jacoby, on the other hand, has not mentioned anything on his account.
Per ESPN’s press release, all the new Twitter-ESPN shows were announced at Twitter’s NewsFront and ESPN’s inaugural NewsFront presentation in New York City.
