FOCO’s Cav Man Championship Bobblehead Keeps the Magic Alive

The Cav Man National Championship bobblehead from FOCO is the perfect capper to a historic run by the Hoos and one all superfans need on their mantles or bookshelves. 

My girlfriend and I drove eight hours to Louisville for Virginia’s Elite Eight victory over Purdue and then promptly flew to Minneapolis for the Final Four a few days later. It was magical, as you know, and one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever been through.

But when Virginia was officially crowned as champions, I (and we) wanted it to keep going. We didn’t want the magic to be over, you see, so we hopped in our Jeep and drove to Charlottesville the following weekend for Virginia’s championship celebration at Scott Stadium. Again, it was thrilling, and again, we didn’t want it to end. So what did we do? Well, we started piling up merchandise to celebrate Virginia’s first-ever national title — newspapers and magazines and shirts and hoodies and blankets and whatever else we could get our hands on; anything to extend the high. We even got orange bandanas for our dog and cat.

Eventually, there wasn’t much left to acquire, no remaining pets to dress up. We had to chill out, unfortunately. A few weeks passed, the NBA Playoffs started, the baseball season started to get interesting and Virginia’s win slowly faded into the backs of our mind. Then our friends at FOCO reached out to let us know about a new limited edition product to commemorate Virginia’s triumph.

Not knowing what to expect, the package came a few days later. I let my girlfriend crack it open and when she got through all the bubble wrap, I could tell from her face that she was impressed — it was a hand-painted bobblehead of Virginia’s mascot, Cav Man, posing in front of a miniature championship trophy. To top off the stunning look, Cav Man is perched on top of Virginia’s official championship logo.

We’ve got a lot of cool stuff to celebrate the Hoos but the bobblehead is probably my favorite. Yes, I love bobbleheads, let that be a disclaimer, but the rarity of the piece makes it that much cooler. There’s only 2019 of these made — sort of like a rare baseball card or something.
