Giannis Antetokounmpo is NBA’s Worst Three-Point Shooter

Despite his natural gifts and supreme talent, Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t quite have an outside game yet.

Of all the NBA players who have attempted 50 three-point shots this year, potential MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is the worst — and it’s not really close. Giannis has gone just 6-for-56 this year from deep, giving him a 10.7-percent mark overall.

Worst Three-Point Shooters in NBA
(minimum 50 attempts)
Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL — 10.7% (6-for-56)
Jonathan Simmons, ORL — 20.8% (11-for-51)
Russell Westbrook, OKC — 23.2% (19-for-82)
Trae Young, ATL — 23.9% (34-for-142)
Jaylen Brown, BOS — 24.7% (19-for-77)
Josh Jackson, PHX — 25% (14-for-56)

There are some pretty big names on the list besides Giannis, yet the Greek Freak is a full 10-percent less than the second-worst three-point shooter — Jonathan Simmons.

While I’m not surprised at all to see Giannis or Russell Westbrook among the NBA’s worst downtown shooters, I was a bit shocked Jaylen Brown made the bottom six. Last year, he shot 39.5 percent from deep which tells me this is merely a slump and he’ll eventually get his stroke right.

From a local perspective, Austin Rivers is the worst three-point shooter for Washington with at least 50 attempts. He has a 30.3-percent mark on 89 tries (27-for-89).

All stats prior to December 8th games.
