Golden Globes: Patricia Arquette Wins For Tillie Mitchell Role
Escape at Dannemora was, in my opinion, the best television show of 2018. It currently holds a 90-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, thanks in large part to some powerhouse performances by the all-star cast Ben Stiller put together. On Sunday evening at the 2019 Golden Globes, one of those performers — Patricia Arquette — was validated with her second career Golden Globe award.
Arquette, who played Joyce “Tillie” Mitchell in the show, beat out a gang of talented actresses in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television category for the win. Actresses she beat out include Laura Dern (The Tale), Amy Adams (Sharp Objects), Connie Britton (Dirty John) and Regina King (Seven Seconds).
Other notable winners that caught my attention so far include: “Shallow” from A Star is Born (Best Original Song – Motion Picture) and Sandra Oh for Killing Eve (Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama). Oh, it should be noted, is co-hosting the show with Andy Samberg.
Escape at Dannemora is also up for Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, which is yet to be announced. You can see the entire list of Golden Globe winners here, via Yahoo.
