Jace Peterson Has Some Fire Cleats Ready For MLB Players Weekend
Jace Peterson is ready for MLB Players Weekend, set to be held between August 23-25, and on his feet will be a pair of cleats that honor Louisiana, his home state. Peterson grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, playing for Hamilton Christian Academy in high school and then McNeese State (also in Lake Charles) in college.
The cleats he had prepared (by Anthony De Lucia) for MLB Players Weekend are Mardi Gras themed, featuring a lot of green, gold, and purple, as well as beads, alligators and more. De Lucia also designed cleats for other players for the upcoming event, including Miami Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara.
“I’ll never forget where I came from,” Peterson said on Instagram.
Peterson, who played 93 games with the O’s in 2018, was called up from Triple-A Norfolk last month and is hitting .229 so far in 23 games. His jersey for MLB Players Weekend will feature “PETEY” on the back instead of his normal last name.
