Jason Concepcion, Haley O’Shaughnessy Out at The Ringer
It’s been a hectic year for The Ringer with their sale to Spotify and subsequent labor issues, and now two longtime staffers are on their way out as well. Jason Concepcion, popular host of Binge Mode and NBA Desktop, and NBA writer Haley O’Shaughnessy both announced they were leaving the company on Friday.

hi! today is my last day at the ringer. it’s been a delight working with so many thoughtful and brilliant people over the last four years. i was 22 and waiting tables in kentucky when they called me – i’ll be grateful always, to the ringer and to any of you who followed along ❤️

Both received an outpouring of love and support after making their announcements. “Legend in these streets,” Tom Haberstroh said on Concepcion’s farewell tweet, while former co-worker Mark Titus noted it was “no coincidence that the two big topics The Ringer was forever known for were the two things you covered best.”
Matt Ellentuck, a former SB Nation WNBA writer, dropped a string of six GOAT emojis on O’Shaughnessy’s post.
I imagine Bill Simmons will address the exodus on his Monday podcast. After all, the BS-Concepcion relationship goes all the way back to the Grantland days and they’ve shared many a podcast episode together. Stay tuned.
Because writing and journalism is important, here are some stories Haley O’Something wrote at The Ringer — one, two, three.
