Jay-Z to Put His Mark on Legal Weed Business in 2020

Earlier this year, news broke that Jay-Z had been brought in by Caliva as a chief brand strategist. Caliva is a California-based cannabis company with a farm and multiple stores, their latest designed to look and feel like a 1950’s deli.

Deli by Caliva, which sells everything from THC-infused sparkling water to t-shirts and coffee, wasn’t Jay-Z’s brainchild, according to The Hollywood Reporter, but his ideas aren’t going to stay private for long.

Per THR, the mogul “is expected to bring his ideas to life in early 2020.”

“There are a lot of conversations happening with him,” Caliva’s Elizabeth Cooksey told THR in an exclusive article about the opening of Deli by Caliva.

So is a Jay-Z product line or concept store on the way? “Nothing is off the table right now. We are really eager to see how high is high,” she says. “He is such an innovator and such an artist that we look forward to partnering and taking his point of view and perspective into account as we grow our product line and our retail experience.”

Jay-Z stays busy working on his empire, and this is just the latest in a long line of areas he’s ventured into. He’s also been in the news recently for his work withĀ the NFL and Netflix.

Musically, Jay-Z didn’t release an album in 2019 but was featured on The Lion King soundtrack (above).
