Jeremy Lin Shared Some Classic Michael Jordan Stories on IG
After spending a year with Kobe Bryant during his penultimate season, Jeremy Lin signed a low-level deal with the Charlotte Hornets for $4.3 million over two years. In a sixth man role, he boosted his stock a ton and helped the Hornets put up a 48-34 record. Lin was Charlotte’s third-leading scorer (12.4 ppg) in the postseason, and, as the #6 seed, they nearly upset Miami. He was clutch in the series even though the Heat won in seven games, but being on a winning team was great for Lin’s career and helped land him a major deal with Brooklyn in the offseason (three-year, $36 million).
In the wake of the Last Dance docuseries on ESPN, Lin shared some Michael Jordan stories from his time with Charlotte on his Instagram account.
He wrote about MJ showing up after Charlotte dropped four in a row to give them some motivation. The punchline came at the end, though, when Jordan told them to “figure it out and don’t make me fly back up from Florida” Also, he remembered MJ ragging on a referee he remembered from back in the day once when he was sitting courtside. Classic MJ.
Yo J-Lin, maybe some Kobe stories next?
