Jon Brion Helped Finish Mac Miller’s New Album, Circles
A new Mac Miller album, Circles, will be released on January 17th, two days before what would have been his 28th birthday. His family announced the release on Instagram on Wednesday, stating the project is a companion piece to his last album, the Grammy-nominated Swimming.
“Swimming in Circles was the concept,” the post read.
Miller had been working on Circles with composer Jon Brion, who made the music for Ladybird, Punch-Drunk Love, and others, before his passing, and Brion used “his time and conversations with Malcolm” to finish the project. Brion and Mac also worked together on Swimming. Brion helped produce seven songs on Swimming, including “So It Goes,” which Mac featured on his Instagram story hours before his death.
“Information regarding this release, his charity, and Malcolm himself will be found at @92tilinfinity,” the post added.
