Ken Burns Adds Country Music Doc to Resume
Ken Burns is the king of the documentary. Over the years, he’s documented all sorts of events and subjects in great length and detail, notably telling the story of baseball and the Vietnam War for PBS. Now, he’ll be able to add country music to his list of film subjects, with PBS announcing a premiere date for his upcoming series, according to Deadline.
The film, titled Country Music, rings in at a Burns-like 16 hours with a plan to spread it out over eight two-hour time slots. The first block will be on September 15th at 8 P.M ET, followed by blocks on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 25th.
Prior to the film’s release, there will also be a concert “celebrating the Burns series” at the Ryman Auditorium, per Deadline. It is set for March 27th and will feature Dierks Bentley, Rosanne Cash, Vince Gill and many others.
