Kevin Love Boosts Trade Value With Huge Game vs. San Antonio
The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t done much winning this year and were on an eight-game losing streak when they started their game at San Antonio on Thursday. Luckily, Kevin Love can still play basketball at a high level, and he threw the team on his back against the Spurs. Love went off to 30 points and 17 rebounds in a 117-109 overtime win, including a game-tying three-ball with 7.5 seconds remaining in regulation.
The 30-point performance was Love’s best of the season and it definitely adds a little bit to his value. Knowing that these kinds of games are still in Love’s bag is huge for potential suitors, especially since the Cavaliers are asking a lot for the five-time NBA All-Star. Reports have surfaced that they want a first-round pick in return, which seems about right, in my opinion.
Rumors of a Love trade have been swirling for a few weeks and it was revealed recently by Kevin O’Conner of The Ringer that he wants to go to his hometown team, the Portland Trail Blazers.
Love has a big contract, which could limit the number of teams willing to trade for him, but adding a guy who has big-game potential and big-game experience could be the remedy for teams trying to get over the hump.
