LISTEN: Asher Roth Drops Christmas Rap Song For Holidays
Asher Roth completed his 2018 with a new Christmas rap song titled “Pantophobia.”
By definition, the word ‘pantophobia’ means “the fear of everything” — according to Wiktionary. The only reason I tell you this little fact (and the only reason I bothered looking it up in the first place) is because Asher Roth dropped a new Christmas rap song titled “Pantophobia” which you can hear below:
Roth, fresh off his hit single “Mommydog,” gets into the holiday spirit with two verses on top of KhruangBin’s “Christmas Time Is Here.” True to form, the Philadelphia rapper paints a picture of Christmas in the north — “I don’t wanna know the temperature, can be sure from my breathe it’s a burrr” — while touching on some grown-up issues associated with the holidays — “Maybe he should ask his dad but his dad be in debt so bad, like dag, that’s pretty bad, so much for all the ho ho ho’s.”
On top of the thoughtful rhymes, the track is heavily influenced by A Charlie Brown Christmas, from the awesome artwork to namedrops of Linus van Pelt and beyond.
