Looking for UVA Swag? Mamadi Diakite is Selling His Hoos Gear on IG

When Virginia was celebrating its national title at Scott Stadium a few days after coming back from Minneapolis, I scooped a new championship shirt in the parking lot for ten bucks. While it was definitely a knock off, it had to be done. My girlfriend and I eventually spent way more dough than I care to admit on official Virginia championship gear, and now it might be time for another mass purchase of Hoos gear.

This time it won’t be from Fanatics, though, it’s going to be some real team-issued swag from the best player on UVA’s basketball team, Mamadi Diakite. With his career at UVA over (thanks, COVID), Mamadi is cashing in on Instagram by selling a ton of team-issued gear.

Altogether, I counted 38 different items, with most being shirts, shorts, and jackets. The one odd item he’s got listed is a clear bag from the Final Four. It’s odd considering what he’s selling, but I have the same one and it always comes in handy when going to events.

Mamadi led the Hoos in scoring this year with 13.7 points per game. In four years, he played 134 games and just missed out on 1,000 career points. He finished with 997 points (smh, coronavirus).
