March Madness: One Easy Strategy To Win a Buttload of Money ATS
So the NCAA Tournament has already started, but the First Four barely counts. It’s like what the preseason of March Madness — just a primer to get you in the mood.
Anyhow, if you’re looking to get filthy rich over the next few weeks, I’ll fill you in on an easy way to make sure you don’t go broke instead. The tip is a small part of the overall strategy I’ve used over the last few years, one that really helps bettors just starting out.
Here we go:
The public is stupid, that’s a fact. They’re always betting the more prestigious programs, the trendy teams, or whoever is getting the most chatter on ESPN or FS1. So instead of being one of them, you need to fade their action.
But how do you know where the public money is going?Â
Simply visit ScoresandOdds.com, go to their ‘Betting Trends’ page, and the percentage will be on the right-hand side for whichever game you’re looking at. Generally, if the public is more than 75 percent on one side, it’s something I’m looking at.
The best situation is when you’re getting 75-percent (or more) on one side and the public has moved the line a few points to our advantage.
Here’s an example of what it would look like:
The Nebraska/MSU total has 72 percent of bets on the OVER (furthest to the right) and has moved two points to our advantage — from 140.5 to 142.5. Here, you’d consider taking the UNDER.
Now, does this work every time? Of course not, but it will absolutely keep you alive over the long haul and is one of the main tools I use in my own handicapping. Even if you just use it as one piece of your sports-betting toolbox, it’s a good guide to help you when you’re flip-flopping.
I’ll be releasing NCAA Tournament picks throughout the tournament on StatSalt.com. Last year, I posted a 46-28-2 ATS record for SBNation — 62.1 percent.
