Maryland & Virginia Advance to NCAA Tournament Round of 32

Maryland and Virginia, the two most prominent DMV college basketball teams in the NCAA Tournament, are moving on after wins in the first round. Maryland, a No. 6 seed, held off No. 11 Belmont in the Round of 64 and now faces No. 3 LSU on Saturday in the Round of 32. Likewise, No. 1-seeded Virginia beat No. 16 Gardner-Webb on Friday to advance to the Round of 32 against No. 9 Oklahoma.
