Today is a Good Day: NBA Set to Return to Seattle Next Season (Kinda)
Basketball is fun.
Seattle is fun.
Basketball in Seattle is fun.
Basketball is not in Seattle.
BUT wait!
Next year, at least for one night, the NBA (well, kinda) will be back in The Emerald City.
Ailene Voisin of the Sacramento Bee reported that there will be a Kings versus Warriors pre-season game at the former home of the SuperSonics — Key Arena.
Huge news coming from Ailene. Not only are the @SacramentoKings coming to Seattle, but so is @KDTrey5, @StephenCurry30 and the @warriors. We will keep everyone posted once tickets go on sale. And make sure to wear your Sonics Green and Gold! https://t.co/9krFQhh3cI

The game will take place on October 6th, 2018 and will be the first time the NBA has been to Seattle since the 2007-08 season.
When Kevin Durant, one of the few remaining players to actually play for the Sonics, was asked about the game by NBCÂ K5, he said it would be a “dope experience”.
On a related note, Bill Simmons has recently mentioned several times on his podcast that he thinks the NBA is coming back to Seattle. He believes the NBA will be adding two more teams as a way to make up for a potential shortening of the season. I sure hope so. Keep fighting the good fight, Bill (and Seattle).
