Oddsmakers Think Maryland is Worse Than Their Ranking

Through 30 games, the Maryland Terrapins have 21 wins, nine losses, and according to Team Rankings, a 100-percent chance to make the NCAA Tournament. They’ve beaten No. 9 Purdue and No. 12 Wisconsin, rank nationally in the AP Top 25 and carry a No. 19 rank via KenPom. Yet, when it comes to their odds to win the national championship this year, they’re tied with six teams that rank below them — some that are nearly 50 spots lower on KenPom (No. 63 Arizona State, No. 65 St. John’s) and one, Indiana, that recently lost 12 of 13 games and has a five-percent chance of even making the NCAA Tournament (per Team Rankings). It doesn’t make sense, that’s for sure. At the same time, it does make sense to go over to Bovada and lay some action on the Terps.
