Orioles Reinstate Chris Davis From IL
When the Baltimore Orioles brought back DJ Stewart from their alternate training site, he came back hitting bombs. Chris Davis is now hoping to follow in Stewart’s footsteps as the O’s announced he’s been reinstated from the IL.
We have reinstated INF Chris Davis from the 10-day Injured List (left knee patellar tendinitis) and designated INF Dilson Herrera for assignment.

In a corresponding move, they designated Dilson Herrera for assignment.
Davis (injury) was in Bowie for a different reason than Stewart (sent down) but the team (and every single fan) is hoping Davis was doing whatever DJ was doing while away from the big club. After all, Davis followed up a monster spring/summer with a total dud performance in actual games.
He’s yet to homer and hitting just .122 (6-for-49). In his last game, an August 19th game in Buffalo against the Jays, he went 0-for-4 with three K’s.
A lot of people have lost hope but he proved this spring/summer he’s still capable of impressive stretches. In 22 ABs, he had nine hits, including three homers and just four strikeouts.
That said, it’s nowhere near a guarantee he’ll get a lot of playing time. Ryan Mountcastle came up when Davis went down and he’s been super impressive (.946 OPS) in 15 games.
