The Philadelphia 76ers Trolled Colin Cowherd By Sending Him a Customized No. 40 Jersey
If you follow Colin Cowherd and his show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, then you know that he didn’t have much love for the 76ers going into the season. In fact, he even bet his co-host Kristine Leahy that the Sixers wouldn’t “sniff” 40 wins this season. Of course, Philly did, in fact, reach 40 wins and now sit as the favorites to win the Eastern Conference. Cowherd, never afraid to admit when he’s wrong, went on air in late March to admit his crummy prediction and wore a Joel Embid jersey to drive home the point.
In the weeks that followed, Cowherd migrated onto the 76ers’ bandwagon. Eventually, he made a bold statement about one of his favorite players that shows just how much he now believes.
“I’ll triple down on what I said last week: Because of the Sixers rise and because of Ben Simmons, the NBA will be fine moving forward with or without LeBron James.” -Colin Cowherd (April 25th, 2018)
That’s some serious praise!
And as a franchise that always stays tuned to their surroundings, the folks in Philadelphia noticed Cowherd’s new stance and sent him a welcome-to-the-fan-club gift. Although the gift was a beauty, there was a bit of trolling involved, too. On April 28th, Colin tweeted out a picture for all to see:
Thanks @sixers. On board. 💪 pic.twitter.com/tQbbRIQbFR

Get it? No. 40 because of his 40-wins comment! Awesome gift and troll-job by the Sixers. I think ours is on the way…
Colin — now in possession of some crispy duds — is officially on board the Philly train. Moving forward, I think they’ll be the new Golden State Warriors. You know, with bandwagon fans jumping on from all over the country!
