Steelers RB James Conner Honoring Mac Miller With Custom Cleats
James Conner is Pittsburgh. Not only is he the starting running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers but he played his college ball at the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he grew up in Pennsylvania and went to high school in Erie, PA. On Saturday, Conner kept his Pittsburgh allegiance tight by showing the world his Mac Miller-themed cleats on Twitter.

While it’s unclear if Conner will wear the cleats when the Steelers host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, the new shoes are a really nice gesture and a solid way to remember the Pittsburgh legend.
In the photos Conner posted, you can see a drawing of Mac on each side with names of his albums and songs pretty much everywhere. Besides the cleats themselves, the photos were taken at Blue Slide Park, a real park near where Mac Miller grew up. Miller’s first full-length album was titled Blue Slide Park.
Last week, fans and supporters mourned Mac Miller’s passing with a vigil at Blue Slide Park.
Conner, a cancer survivor, ran 31 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 for the Steelers.
