Please Watch This Bryce Harper Bomb Into McCovey Cove
Bryce Harper hit one of the most glorious home runs of the year on Friday against San Francisco. The homer, a three-run shot and his second of the game, went way over the outfield wall at Oracle Park, splashing down with force into McCovey Cove. Harper’s bomb was the 130th “splash hit” at the ballpark, as well as the second of the game; Stephen Vogt hit the 129th ball into McCovey Cove shortly before Bryce blasted a Tony Watson slider almost 500 feet.

Officially, the ball went 456 feet, but I’m not buying it. Looking at the dimensions and where it landed, I’d say it’s closer to 480 or so.
Harper’s first jack, I’ll note, traveled 420 feet to dead-center.

The multi-home run game was Harper’s first in a Phillies uniform and his “splash hit” was the third in Phillies’ history.
Philadelphia won 9-6 to halt a three-game losing streak.
