Reports Say Narcan Was Administered to Juice Wrld Following Collapse
More details are coming out about the tragic passing of Juice Wrld, a 21-year-old rapper from Chicago. According to the Chicago Tribune, the police were in the middle of searching his and his associate’s luggage when the rapper collapsed and started convulsing. The search turned up several vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, as well as codeine cough syrup, three handguns, and ammunition.
The Tribune reported that sources revealed the rapper’s girlfriend told police he had taken Percocet and had “a drug problem.” Suspecting an opioid overdose, “an agent administered two doses of Narcan.”
Narcan is a drug used to reverse an opioid overdose.
Higgins woke up but was incoherent. Paramedics took him to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 3:14 a.m.
After an autopsy Monday, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said it needed to conduct further testing to determine the cause and manner of death, including toxicology studies of any narcotics in his system.
