Rondo and LeBron Watch Duke-UVA in Charlottesville
Despite the recent trade rumors and drama surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers, two of the team’s biggest stars — LeBron James & Rajon Rondo — were spotted together on Saturday in Charlottesville for the Duke-UVA college basketball game.
The pair sat right under the hoop in front of a sea of orange, accompanied by LeBron’s camp. Of course, ESPN cameras wasted no time finding (and featuring) them on their primetime broadcast. Fittingly, LeBron wore a hoodie featuring the name of his ESPN+ series, More Than A Game. Seeing ESPN’s coverage of them, LeBron’s wardrobe, and Sunday’s ABC schedule (Lakers at 76ers), it makes me think ESPN arranged everything on Saturday.
Los Angeles is currently on an east coast road trip; on Thursday, they picked up a huge win in Boston thanks to a game-winning jumper by Rondo.

This isn’t the first time the two basketball geniuses have been spotted at high-profile sporting events, either; Rondo and LeBron took in the Cowboys-Rams NFC Divisional Playoff game in Los Angeles a few weeks ago.

While it’s obvious Rondo and LeBron have become good friends and enjoy each others company, Rondo was included in numerous different trade offers before the deadline. Nothing ever materialized but it seemed close for a while. I wonder if LeBron OK’d Rondo in trade offers or tried to pull strings behind the scenes to keep his new homie around.
