Ryan Tannehill Wins First Start With Titans
After taking over mid-game for Marcus Mariota last week, former Miami Dolphins starter Ryan Tannehill won his first start with the Tennessee Titans, beating the Los Angeles Chargers 23-20. Tannehill averaged 10.8 yards per attempt, more than any of Mariota’s six starts in 2019.

In total, the former Texas A&M quarterback went 23-of-29 for 312 yards and two touchdowns. Tannehill did throw an interception but he only took two sacks. Compared to Mariota, who took 25 sacks in six games before getting pulled, that’s a big step in the right direction, though the o-line definitely deserves credit, too.

Tennessee improved to 3-4 with the win. They’ll host Tampa Bay in Week 8, play at Carolina in Week 9, and host Kansas City in Week 10 before their bye week in Week 11. Needless to say, the job belongs to Tannehill moving forward.
