SMU’s Ben Hicks, Notre Dame’s Brandon Wimbush Pick New Schools

SMU’s Ben Hicks and Notre Dame’s Brandon Wimbush have picked their new schools for 2019.

Two guys who have made a name for themselves in college football — Ben Hicks, SMU; Brandom Wimbush, Notre Dame — are officially on the move.

Hicks, who is SMU’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns, announced via Twitter that he’s heading to the SEC to play for Arkansas as a grad transfer.

Wimbush, who was Notre Dame’s full-time starting quarterback last season and at the beginning of this season, announced via Instagram that he is joining Central Florida as a grad transfer in 2019.

Both guys will be able to play immediately, per transfer rules. With Arkansas losing Cole Kelley to transfer, and potentially losing Ty Storey, it looks like Hicks could have a shot at starting next season for the Hogs. Likewise, Wimbush should have a shot to start at UCF with McKenzie Milton still recovering.
