Sources: NBA Adding Four-Team Summer League Showcase in Sacramento
There aren’t many things that have grown like the NBA Summer League. Over the last few years, the showcase has gone from an afterthought to a much-needed bridge in the league’s calendar. While a lot of it has to do with sports bettors needing action during summertime — which is normally offseason in the sports-betting world — the NBA Summer League has been vital to making the league a 12-month sport.
Now, with Orlando’s showcase shuttering, the NBA plans to add a four-team event in Sacramento.
League sources: In addition to tournaments in Las Vegas and Utah, the NBA plans to introduce a 2018 Sacramento Summer League. The event is tentatively scheduled to include the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.

Ben Dowsett of The Athletic revealed in a tweet that the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, and Sacramento Kings would be the four participating teams.
In addition to this news, the league also announced that every single NBA team would be participating in the Las Vegas Summer League. Previously, only 24 teams participated in the Vegas event, with eight competing in Orlando, and four in Utah’s.
