The Definitive Power Rankings For The Ringer Podcast Network

Because The Ringer is the bee’s knees when it comes to podcasting, Slackie Brown went and graded all of their (eligible) podcasts for first list of its kind — The Definitive Power Ranking of The Ringer Podcast Network.

The Ringer Podcast Network now has 24 podcasts listed on their home page. Elsewhere, it’s sort of a mess. A lot of the rubble has to do with Channel 33, which serves as a hub for several shows. Because of this, Apple groups all the shows on 33 into one section and makes it super difficult to get where to want to go.

With all that said, The Ringer Podcast Network is still king when it comes to audio — particularly for the Millennial Generation. They have something for everyone. And if there isn’t a show you love, they’re always coming out with new stuff in an attempt to fill the holes.

What we’re going to do here is rank the shows that are eligible to chart on Apple Podcasts — excluding Channel 33’s stable — Jam Session, The Big Picture, The Press Box, Through The Ringer, and Damage Control — as well as The Recappables because it is only a few episodes old.

That leaves us with 16 shows to choose from, some fairly new, like Bachelor Party, and some veteran shows, like The Watch. One show, Achievement Oriented, is still listed on The Ringer but has not been active in months — they’ll also be left off out of the rankings.

Shows will be scored on a six-part grading system, as follows:

iTunes rating: 1 point for each star

Number of reviews: 1 point per 1,000

Highest chart position: 1 (80–100), 2 (60–79), 3 (40–59), 4 (20–39), 5 (1–19)

Days on chart: 1 (1–25), 2 (26–50), 3 (51–75), 4 (76–100), 5 (101-beyond)

Editor Top-5 Lists: №5 (1), №4 (2), №3 (3), №2 (4), №1 (5)

Brand & Star Power: 1 point if the podcast has a presenting sponsor or has their host’s name in the title
