The Washington Post and Topps Teamed Up For Exclusive 2018 MLB All-Star Baseball Cards
With the 2018 MLB All-Star Game coming to Washington, D.C. for the first time since the Nationals became a thing, the city’s hometown paper — The Washington Post — released a special newspaper commemorating the event. The paper, released on Friday, July 13th, included several compelling sections dedicated to the week-long event in the District. Among them was a field guide for navigating the fun in the Weekend Section, a special pullout for the All-Star Game itself, and another pullout highlighting D.C. United’s brand new Audi Field — which will strategically open on Saturday while the city is abuzz. Impressively, this was all in addition to the newspaper’s regular sports section.
The best part of this newspaper came tucked inside the special All-Star Game pullout, though, something that baseball lovers and memorabilia collectors will find especially interesting: a limited edition run of Topps baseball cards dedicated to the 2018 MLB All-Star Game starters.

Laid out in an uncut sheet, the cards have already found their way onto eBay and feature 17 players and one card for Nationals Park itself.
The Post is known for doing cool stuff, and in my office you’ll currently find special pull-outs featuring the Top-40 NBA Players of All-Time and all 30 MLB Stadiums, but this one takes the cake. After all, neither of those two specials came in conjunction with another major brand. This one, though, has a little extra cache with that notorious Topps logo.
If kept mint and uncut, these limited edition baseball cards will be a hard-to-find piece of baseball history in a few years.
