Michael Beasley Could Have PR Nightmare With Vulgar Instagram Post
This has been a fantastic season for Michael Beasley. He’s playing the best basketball of the year, and because he’s in New York, the press clippings have followed. By all accounts, he’s done a good job in the PR department. He seems like he’s totally engaged with his job, coming off as one of the best comeback stories in the entire NBA.
Before every game, Beasley usually posts on Instagram with a picture of himself, a caption, and his (now) trademark hashtag — #StrappedIn. On Tuesday, he continued with the trend, except his caption has turned some heads.

The caption reads, “I fucced her friend I’d never tell her….#respect #wb #gameday #imstrappedin”.
I don’t know what exactly he’s getting at but it seems totally out of place in terms of a gameday post. Immediately, I thought of the Future verse on “Lowlife”.
Ethan Levy, founder of Gotham Sports, shared my initial thoughts.
“Probably some rap lyric,” Levy told me after the post hit the web.
However, upon further examination, the lyric I thought of is a little bit different, although the sentiment is essentially the same.
“If she catch me cheatin’, I will never tell her sorry…” -Future on “Lowlife”
So I looked a little more on Genius and found another similar lyric from Lil Wayne’s Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape.
“I fucked her friend, I don’t feel bad about it…” -Lil Wayne on “No Haters”
Nothing is a stone-cold match to Beasley’s post, and by the looks of its accompanying comments, other folks can’t quite make heads or tails either.
Regardless, it wouldn’t surprise me if Michael Beasley gets some sort of fine from his Rated-R post. It’s awesome to many (including myself), yet the PC culture we live in likely finds it too vulgar for social media.
It should be noted that Trey Burke, one of Beasley’s newest Knicks’ teammates, popped up in the comment section with a few crying-face emojis.
The Knicks play the Brooklyn Nets tonight at 7:30 P.M ET at Madison Square Garden.
